How To Measure Your Door Louver In a Hollow Metal or Commercial Wood Door
Door louvers are a great addition to any commercial door and are quite easy to measure for new installation or replacement.
For New Installation1. First determine from the chart below what size door louver you wish to have on your door. Below the chart shows the most common door louver sizes.
2. The rough opening door cutout will be the same as the order size. For example, if you want a 12" x 12" door louver, then the door cut out required would be 12" x 12".
For Replacing An Existing Louver1. The most accurate method, would be to disassemble the existing louver and measure the door cut out. The approximate door cut out will be the order size of the louver.
How To Install A Door Louver
1. Cut out the door according to the manufacturer's proper procedure.
2. Carefully place the outside portion of the door louver frame into the door cut out.
3. Carefully place the inner portion of the door louver kit into the door. Start all screws.
4. When tightening screws follow a criss-cross pattern. This will ensure even tension across the entire vision lite frame.
