A commercial grade 1 door closer is a type of automatic closing device that has been tested for over 2 million door cycles and is the highest grade door closer you can purchase. Grade 1 is essentially a type of standardized rating on national scale set forth by ANSI (American National Standards Institute) and BHMA (Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association).
